This is a question to the people who created this blog. Are any of you native spanish speakers? If not what made you decide to do this as a Spanish education site? I think it is cool to see you writing in spanish on your blog. What I also see as interesting is to see how I am not alone in the fact that I took 3.5 years of Spanish language between high school and collge and don't remember a llot of it either.

Hi Amber,
Ismael and I both speak Spanish, English, and even Spanglish! Ismael is a native speaker from Mexico while I was surrounded by the Mexican culture and Spanish language in Tucson, Arizona for many years. I moved to the West from Florida at the age of 8 and instantly became the minority. This is when and where I started to become interested in the Spanish language. I found that learning the language helped others in not only Arizona but all over the United States. Hispanics are the largest minority by far in the United States. I believe it is important to cater to the needs of not only the students but the parents as well.
So, there is a point to learning a second language in highschool. It is to better prepare you for everyday life and in your career. As a teacher, you will have multiple students with English as a Second Language (ESOL). This blog is dedicated to these students who struggle to succeed each day.
